Need help on WWII German serial numbers

First off, I am a commonwealth collector. I have never collected artifacts from the second place participants of the wars. As such, I am a little lost on the meanings of these serial numbers which I have raised off an old 20mm receiver I dug out of a scrapyard last year. Can any of you provide some information (ie factory or year of production) from the following photos?

No idea on year or factory, but looks like a solothurn. Cool find.

I can make out an "hhg" which does look like a German WW2 code but I am unsure what the numbers above mean. Try, if possible, looking for any WaA markings as you can research the WaA inspector number and get a good idea which factories would have made that piece or inspected that part.

What is that relic ?

Try measuring the dimensions of the magwell and some other dimensions (receiver length, chamber, etc) Then you may be able to figure out what you have and compare photos. After that you may be able to decipher the numbers and any other codes.

What is that relic ?

This resides nearby (flakveirling 38) and I believe this is one of the missing receivers from the main unit. There is also a flak 38 nearby, and it could be off that as well.

I was digging out a 100 year old gun limber and I found the receiver buried underneath, about 4" in the ground. The RCD on the hitch is for Royal Carriage Department and the 1896 would be the year.

Wish i had a junk yard like that nearby, i would be all over that quad 20mm.

my info says that Berlin -Tegel plant produced mg 131 .if that is the case this is a very rear find and you might want to find the rest of the parts.
as a lot of this info is incomplete they may have also made the flak 38 .
the pic does look like a flak 38 reciever.
at the end of the war Rheinmetall-Borsig had 12 plants and God only nows what they were pushing out the doors.

Once I get a chance to run it thru the sandblaster, I'll have a better idea as to what is on it and whats missing. It has sat outside and in the ground for almost 36 years or so.

Nope, but when the stuff falls in your lap, it's hard to say no.

I did buy one of those Suomi semis the other day, but aside from that, everything in the gunroom is British commonwealth with maybe a hint of US made in the bunch.
