Fixed power scope

Have 2 6X42's kicking around and owned an older one before. Love them. They mount on a gun like a 3-9X40, and have a much better eye-box.

The only 6X36 I have owned was an older M8, so I can't speak much for it. But I will say the M8 6X36 still had better eye relief than any fixed power leupold I've tried, and clarity was fine.

Opinions on the best low FIXED power scope for $1000. 4x or 6x maybe
8x max Euro or US made. Fine duplex.

Cheers
I have an FX-II 4x and like it a lot. It fits ex-low Talleys on a 700 long action, is bright, lightweight and versatile. I'm considering buying another.

The choice between the 4x and 6x really depends on the type of hunting you do and where. I could see a 6x being of more use out west than here in the east where shots are closer.

I just tried mine on a Browning FN 98 I have here. Fits perfect with good bolt clearance in old school Redfield mounts. Sometimes it's hard to get a smaller scope to fit on a full length action.

Wait a minute....how'd I miss that!? Ex-low Talley's...are the LWs?? If so I did not know they existed....my one beef with Talley LWs is that the lows aren't overly low...
