Cheap steel shells don't kill

Went out this morning, came back with 25 Canadas, couple snows and 3 ducks. The big Canadas weighed 16lbs. The 4's just keep working.

I think you need someone to independently evaluate your results. Conveniently, I am available to come along next time :D.

But on a more serious note, I've never used 4's for geese. I use 2's for the most part, and had good luck. I don't see why 4's wouldn't work - despite some people saying you need to use BB's and 3 1/2 shells.
 
Myself and all the guy's I goose hunt with use 3" BB. As of this morning's hunt a total of 80 Canada's harvested by our group. I tried a box of Blindside at the start of the season, but honestly couldn't tell the difference from the much cheaper Winchester and Challenger stuff.
 
Last weekend my buddy and I hammered our limit of darks, 12 Canadas, 4 Specks and a bonus 7 Ross and 3 Snows. We both shot Federal Ultra Shok 2 3/4" - 1 1/4 oz loads of # 3 shot and had no issues killing birds. We only had two sailers , that dropped within 250 yards and his dog recovered both. I have killed a lot of geese, especially the big giants using #4 shot over the decoys to 30 yards with good effective results. In my 101 I often run 1 1/4 oz # 3 for the first shot from my bottom barrel with a skeet choke and a 1 1/4 oz load of #2 's for the second shot out of my top barrel with an IC choke. It works well.
 
Any recipes for geese? I enjoy hunting them but end up giving them away as they are like eating a rubber boot! Harold
