Hi --

I am considering mounting a muzzle compensator on my Norc M305. It is a standard model unmodified (so far) in any way. I have read good things about the JP Tactical compensators, but I am unsure as to the thread sizes and other dimensions required to select and install the correct model. Does anyone have this information, or a suggestion as to where to go to find it? Any other comments on the subject of brakes or compensators, or recommendations for a particular model that works well and is easy to install on a standard Norc 305 would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

You'll need a muzzle break that's specific for the M14 if you want to keep your front sight. Smith enterprises gets good reviews. I believe Armtac has some of them.

Otherwise if I'm not mistaken I think you can have your barrel threaded to the standard AR muzzle threads 1/2 X 28? Something along those lines. But it would have to be reamed for 308 if its designed for .223.

The gas lock front sights that smith makes don't fit on your chinese barrel, so you'll lose your sights.

"The nut is threaded for M14 GI barrels only."

Do you know someone using one? American gas locks do not fit the threading on Chinese metric barrels.
