Beretta 687ELII ?

So I've got this NIB Beretta over and under sitting here which was won in a raffle. Any idea what specific model this is? I believe EL is the grade. How do you know if it's a Silver, Gold or Diamond Pigeon? What is the retail value?
I'm confused by the wide range of grades and pricing in the 687 series.

Any info appreciated. Thank you.

Do you have an actual picture of the gun?
I just did a quick Google search and found one in the UK with a value of 3200 British Pounds.
what did you pay for the ticket?

Almost all of the 680 series have the same innards (685 is the exception). The EL, primarily means that it has pretty wood. It might have the false side plates like my EELL has, but it might not.

I doubt it is a pigeon because it would probably say so on the box and on the bottom of the receiver. It is probably at least 10 years old as it has mobile chokes. Keep an eye on Joel
Etchen's web site http://www.joeletchenguns.com/ and Jaquas http://www.jaquas.com/ They often get guns like yours in on trade, which are new / like new.

If you click on that link to the Beretta website, lots of them are still made with MC chokes. I checked on the bottom of the receiver and it does indeed say "S 687 EL GOLD PIGEON II".
I totally overlooked that, thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

You will likely find that Mobile Chokes are only in the sub-gauge guns (20, 28 and .410). I haven't seen a new MC gun in 12 gauge for probably close to 10 years.

The Joel Etchen and Jaquas web sites "used gun sections" will give you a fair idea of what the current retail list price would be for the gun you have.

Some pictures of yours would be nice to see. They usually have nice engraving and very nice wood.

I have a pretty new silver pigeon II 12G with a 28inch barrel and it uses Mobile chokes.

I just went to beretta US. It appears all 687 field guns have mobile chokes. The sporting/competition not so much.

Maybe ... but, I've been wrong before and will be again. It doesn't make sense to build barrels with a bunch of different choke systems. I think they have three variations of the Optima bore now, one of which, I believe, is a "field" choke(s).
