Gevelot Canada

In my search for some 222 Mag ammo ran across some Gevelot ammo, anyone with experience or knowledge of this ammo?

Ages ago I bought several boxes of Gevelot 7X57 and 303 Br. from Ellwood Epps when they had a store in North Bay.The ammo shot just fine and I reloaded the brass with no problems at all, seemed like good quality stuff to me. I also have 50 or so Gevelot headstamp 7X57 brass, never loaded, that I'm going to be processing shortly.I've never had any issues with any of it in my experience.

The factory was built by a French company in Saskatoon in the late 1960's and operated to the early 70's. It was good quality ammunition, and I have heard from several sources that the brass was made for them by Norma of Sweden. In addition to rifle cartridges, they made .22 RF and shotshells. As a matter of coincidence, I shot a limit of pheasants a few days ago with some Gevelot 16 ga. #5's. I have a case of 7x57 ammo on hand. It is good stuff, but may be showing its age. Some .22 shell boxes that I collected:

I remember buying Gevelot .22 long Rifle about 1968/69 in Stettler/Castor Alberta, i was 14 then, nobody said anything, you paid for your .22 shells, and walked out of the store,..if that happened now, the SWAT team would be called,..so much horseSh*t now

If cases have small flash holes, you always have the opportunity to use a flash hole deburring / flash hole uniformizer tool, which is a basic reloading tool everyone should have.
I reload Gevelot cartridges and never experienced tight flash holes, as I systematically deburr / uniformize them prior to reload them...

I remember buying Gevelot shotgun shells back in the 60's. We usually bought them because they were a bit cheaper, but we always felt like traitors, as the good old Imperials, Canucks, and Maxims were such good shells. I think I have a box of 7mm Rem Mag in Gevelot.
