Don't know whether to buy the 5.56 CSA vz 58 for 650$ used (apparently paid 980$)

or a 7.62 cz858 for 600 shipped, used (prolly paid 800$)

thoughts??

the csa sounds like i am getting 330$ discount ?? but the 7.62 cz858 is what i really originally wanted

You can buy a new CZ858 for about $700... Canada ammo even had a deal for a CZ858 and crate of 1200 non corrosive rounds for $900...

I could definitely buy the 7.62 version though. Cheaper ammo... and the 858 likes to eat up ammo... so cheaper is better. More time to play.

so u reckon a new gun for 700$+tax.. (800$) is a better choice than a gently used (700 rounds) cz858 for 600 delivery included?

Depends on whether you want to shoot 5.56 or 7.62 .

I'd Locke to have both but so far only have the 858 .
I like it a bunch .

I've got a CSA VZ58 5.56 with magwell adaptor v2 for my wife. By the reason that I have an AR which she can us all its mags and be able to shoot the same ammo. I have a brand new Yugo M59/66A1 in 7.62x39 as you know, but still want a VZ58 (not CZ858) in 7.62 calibre in my collection :). It comes to your own preference and ammo supply.

Thanks guys

Is 700'or so
Rounds through a gun a big deal? I want to buy used and
Save money

Rounds through are important in some cases .
More important with the surplus ammo is whether it has been cleaned after every use as rust forms quick in the unlined barrels after shooting corrosive ammo .

I bought the vz58 5.56 non restricted version so I can use the magwell adapter and run the 10 round LAR mags.

I will eventually pick up an 858 though.

762x39 is the obvious choice.

I'd go for the NR standard 858. I have both the NR and the 11.5" Love them both. also have an AR but always go back to my reds. I'm just better with them.
