I've had my brand new 858 since July or August and I haven't even shot it yet!!! It's killing me. My better half has been working a lot more so I've been home more with my Daughter and haven't been able to hunt much or get out at all to shoot my guns.. Although I haven't shot my 858 yet, I went ahead and ordered the Fab Defense grip from Wolverine, so I'll have that in a few days. I also may have some wood furniture being made up for me in the near future. Anyone else have a hard time getting out to do some shooting, due to bigger responsibilities?

Yes I can say the same, I have a few LE's in the safe that are begging to get out!
I did however, go to the camp this weekend to hook up the generator and propane fridge.....and an SVT40 just happened to follow me there!!!....(paper targets only)

I haven't shot my rifle in months it makes me sad :-( I did however get out to do some bird hunting the other day with my shotty. Didn't see anything so I tossed a water bottle I had and blasted that with a 7 1/2. Obviously I didn't leave the garbage, but it felt nice to actually pull the trigger!

You're embarrassed to admit that you're a good father?

You my friend, have your priorities sorted out, even if you don't know it.

You'll get that rifle out when the time presents itself.

Haha nah, I'm a very proud father of a beautiful 3yo girl. I don't get too worked up about not being able to get out and shoot, but this 858 is like a bad itch that needs to be scratched lol. When I finally get out to shoot this thing I'll probably be like a kid in a candy store. I better take lot's of ammo.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one not able to find time to shoot.

I dont get out of bed for less than 200 rounds... hehe.

I understand where your coming from fully. I was big into RC before i got into guns. This past summer I had to make a choice... and guns won. Im lucky enough to have places to shoot right out my back door and a wife who both works for me and doenst mind watching the wing ding while im out for a few hours. On the other hand, come March there will be 2 sets of little feet running around so things may change. All I know is that if I dont get out to shoot every couple days, at least once a week, I start get all grumpy and irritated. Thats when my wife TELLS me to go out and shoot something...

The biggest thing keeping me from shooting is actually the fact that the property I have full access to is a "no centerfire zone", and the other property I have access to is an hour away. Not really interested in taking my 3yo to a field an hour away to play with my new toy.

And for the others.. Now I'm really ashamed. I did not forget to add a zero to my 7.62 count.. I bought a 100rd pack of corrosive from Crappy Tire one day to try out before I decide what brand to buy a larger quantity of.. Still haven't shot it. I know, I know, it's sad. lol

pavementsurfer, congratulations on the new addition! I think I'm going to stop with just one lol

I promise you , on your first time with that CZ you will shoot all 100 rounds and wonder why you didn't bring more !
At around $300 for 1300 rounds from the suppliers here WITH free delivery you will definitely wish you had ordered a bunch .
You will dig that FAB grip . I put one on a while ago and it's so much better than the crappy piece of garbage that it has stock .
Have fun when you get the chance .

I bought a savage axis in 204 ruger last year for gophers mostly and some coyotes. I have 300 brass for it but its only been out gopher shooting twice and I've been out looking for coyotes but have yet to take a shot at one. Would love to go blast off a few hundred rounds but didn't have a lot of time this year. Kid was born in January and I have been doing some welding on the side and helping dad on the farm. I guess that's just life.

Where are you getting the custom made wood set from??

I got in touch with "Buttwhat" after talking with you. Just waiting for an email from him with some picture examples of wood to choose from. I think wood furniture is a MUST on the 858. At least the handguards, anyway.

Ok very good, i was gonna say!!!!!!

If you can afford it, just get the full stock kit. worth it by all means. Then atleast you have a stock/ pistol grip in case you want to change anything back and forth.

I have been out shooting under 10 times this year....

On the bright side, I continue ordering guns and ammo at the same rate so I have lots of ammo and new guns to try out if I ever get around to it.
