Should I buy a NEA AR?

Correct me if I'm wrong...
Bs posts by nea aside....
They have fixed all the issues they were having,
customers got the parts replaced free
They outsource some parts (which ones? I can't find info on that other than their recalls)
Heavy trigger but looks like they switched to 5lb springs for civilian market
Fit and finish better than norc, worse than Daniel defence which seems to be the next step up for a 10.5"

Missing anything?

So that in mind...is it worth more than a norc? Which would you be happier with?

If I get one I'll give a review, and then let a few guys I know who are more experienced give input...and one of them has been telling me not to get nea or the norc.

Anyone in gta/etobicoke have a NEA? Or know of a store within 40 min that I can go see one at?
It would be nice to see one before I drop a grand on it.
If I get one, ill let people check it out at the ranges I go to.

I am just telling you what I have and how it has worked. Tell you the truth, my LMT is working like **** right now for some reason. Has ran like a top for a few years but right now I can't rely on it. I gave it a good cleaning and will try it tomorrow. It's not lies, it's not shilling, it is the truth.

Greg

thanks Greg,

That is great, the exact thing i was looking to hear. Real people, telling real stories about their NEA. Thanks.

I spent the extra for a DD and love it! I had a norc 10.5" but it wasn't my thing!

I'd rather buy a norc and install a Daniel defense rail on it than a NEA personally, as well as swap the stock and grip

Target Sports Canada in Gormley stocks a TON of NEA stuff, including rifles.

That being said, I have an NEA-15 DMR and am building a Patrol Carbine (14.5" w/ 9" rail). I'll post groups in about 2 weeks next time I get to the range.

thanks,
i emailed them and sfrc, i think im going to just buy one, but i decided i want either the 12.5 or 14.5. i was just looking at my friends norc and his is 14.5, seems to be the length i would want.

if either of them have a 12.5 with 9" rail in stock im going to buy it this week. ill give you guys my own review, im preparing to be flamed by half the people on here, including 1 of my friends who had been saying avoid NEA.... lol

Must be some very wealthy people on this site. I know I can't afford to take the risk. $1000 is a $1000. I'd rather pay more for a few better features (finish, a nice looking rail, and trigger) than risk getting a good deal that could cost me time agravation and money.

That being said it's good people are willing to try it. I look forward to the day when the bugs are worked for sure this time. At that point Ill take another look. Until then I can't afford to be a Beta tester.

Thanks for the offer but Ill stick with my Stag, Armalite, LMT, Tavor, Swiss Arms PE90 etc. :D So far so good.

As for risk taking I did take the plunge on an ADCOR elite. I did my homework so hopefully it doesn't go NEA on me. :stirthepot2:

Me neither.

I'm close to you, about 45 mins from Etobicoke. If you want to see and shoot an early 14.5" NEA-15 (received in January, serial no. less than 300) let me know. I'll warn you now though, when you see and shoot it, you'll come to the same conclusion I did and buy one. Just sayin'.

For what I have seen so far, NEA shooters in my club have replaced the super heavy NEA trigger with after market one at a costs of around $300.00.
i read somewhere that NEA released a updated trigger spring to bring the weight way down....dont know if its released, i emailed them to find out, this is also a bit of a concern for me.

much higher price point than i want to spend on a paper hole punch....if i was able to go hunting with it it would be a different story and ide drop a few extra bucks, but for a first AR...this is pushing the max of what i want to spend...still need optics on it too.

Every time these three character show up together, the thread is going to be HOT. Pro or Con, endless debate.
i dont come on here enough and pay much attention to who is who...but ive got a bit of a idea who would like NEA to sink.
i was about to order one a few months back ,then all that shill bs popped up so i waited, now im looking again and im surprised they are being compared to the quality of Norc..but they ruined their image on this forum, however it doesnt mean their rifles are junk.
no other google searches came up with negative reviews other than on here....that is one of the reasons im going to give it a go.

That's not entirely accurate... Apparently a few threads criticizing NEA popped up a few of the SA and NZ black rifle forums, but they were quickly deleted. I'm not inferring that the reception was overly negative, just that the NEA guns weren't universally received without incident, either.

Really? Why is this kind of BS still being posted? The only "risk" you take by buying an NEA-15 is you may have to utilize their 100% lifetime warranty and you may have to wait a week while they send you some new parts. It's unlikely IMO, but you might. If you can't afford that kind of "risk" then you've got bigger problems than what AR to buy.
