Globs of lube, what to do?

This is how my lead RN bullets come, there are globs and globs on these bullets. Reloading is supposed to be fun (at least to me it is) but if I have to take the time and scrape all this excessive crap off, its going to double or triple my reloading time. What do you guys do to clean them up in a hurry, and if there is still a tiny bit left up at the top of the brass, but on the bullet, not on the brass, is it going to be an issue?

Thats just terrible. Whoever did those should be ashamed to sell them. Possibly the lub got hot in the box but still I wouldn't expect it all over the place like that. Were these commercially made?
 
take them back and tell the arse who made them to learn how to lube bullets....

i see no harm in them once chambered, but loading them into a mag and them feeding will no doubt get lube in your mags and gun.
 
Another issue with those bullets, is the lube could build up in the seating die and seat the bullet deeper and deeper as you continue reloading. Scrape them or scrap them!!
 
Try Custom Reloading Service (a sponsor here) or Omaproducts.ca or Bullet Barn. They won't sell crap like that.
 
I just went through this last week....I cast my own but also buy commercial stuff as well. All I did was take my .45 lube cake from my last pan lube session, pop the boolits in and into the oven it went...melted the unwanted lube away and presto

$80/1000 bullets. I have Berry's bullets as well in a plated bullet, they are beautiful, nice, clean, smooth, they look and load awesome.

i've yet to see a smooth berrys bullet, they are dimpled badly, but for the price i could care less. they are to spec and great bullets, but smooth they are not.

REALLY? Mine are "plated" and they are actually very smooth compared to the other lead RN I bought locally.
 
I would take them back if I could. Anyone who casts and lubes shouldnt sell or use them like that.

That said you could boil them (in a pot you won't eat out of again) and get the lube off (it should melt and float to top). Then pan lube (lots of youtube vids) them again in a pan or tray you also won't eat out of.
 
I think this time around (being my first cast bullet purchase) I learned a LOT, I will offer my kid $10 to pick off all the excessive lube and hope she goes for the offer LOL. Next time I'll take a closer look and if he has the same stuff on the bullets I'll let him know of the problem and buy elsewhere.

Just wipe them off with a rag or paper towel soaked in lacquer thinner. It will dissolve & remove the lube no problem and it evaporates quickly so you won't have to wait for the rounds to dry.

Make sure she's wearing gloves. Lead is not something you want her handling.
