e) During the past 5 years, do you know if you have been reported to the police or social services for violence, threatened or attempted violence, or other conflict in your home or elsewhere?

What a odd way to word a question.

For all the other questions, the good answer is NO.

I know for a fact that I have never been reported for anything as I have never even had so much as a speeding ticket lol, but if I answer YES because I know I haven't been reported for anything I feel like that is the wrong answer and the correct answer for someone who has never been reported for anything would be no.

Am i just over thinking this?

In the essence of the question they are looking for honesty because they will know regardless of which box you checked.

@Eddy_bullpoo I had to answer yes to that one. I was charged with assault after some stupidity, however, the charge was dropped by the crown. When they called me for my interview I explained it as per my detailed explanation on the attached sheet I sent in with my PAL app. Still got my PAL issued to me within a reasonable time frame.

lol, I thought the exact same thing when I read that question, it's very badly worded.

I took the easy way out, and said "Not that I'm aware of." when they phoned me. Because, really, it's entirely possible one of my neighbors have seen me through the windows with no pants on and flailing around with my AR and called the police on me, who took one look and decided they don't get paid enough to see me with no pants on.

Really, it's one of those questions where you can't be sure if they're calling your bluff or not. Trixy hobbits.

Do I know if I've been reported? I have no idea. Could be I was reported and the police fouind something more interesting to do on the way over to the house, or didn't think it was worth following up.

It's a bad question. Much like half of the questions on the written exam - that mess is a damned trivia hunt.

There is a reason why these questions are called "the NO questions"...because the answer to all of them is NO!!!
