Hello I am hoping to eventually take my 300 win mag (shooting 208 A Maxs) out to 1000+ yards, so far made it consistently out to 700, and was wondering if a Nightforce NSX 5.5-22x50 will have enough internal adjustment for these ranges or will a 20 MOA be needed. Also what base/ring combo would you recomend? Rifle is a M700.

Use a ballistic calculator. If you know how fast the bullets are going and you know the ballisic coefficient, you can plot this yoursef. the 5.5-22 has all kinds of adjustment, and no, 20 MOA won't be needed

I'm shooting 208amax's at 2890FPS. Gives me about 25.5MOA drop at 1000 yards from my 100 yard zero.

Nightforce 5.5-22's have 100MOA of adjustment. You should be just fine getting to 1000 yards. Even if you put a 20MOA base put on backwards.

You won't need the 20 MOA base, but once you start hammering targets out that far you might find you have a taste for it and want to go further..... ;-)

Hahahah this post pretty much sums it up , NF has a lot of ADJ for 1000

Here's a thought; set up a huge target at 1000yds, and...wait for it... wait for it.... and SHOOT AT IT. If you're at 700yds now wtf??? Use some common sense.

I have the NF 12-42x56mm with even less MOA up (65) and 20 MOA bases on a Remington Varmint in 308.
With Varget powder and 155s I can make it to 1050 yards no problem, with about 6 or 7 MOA left for upwards adjustment.

If your going to post like that, just try to keep yourself from posting at all.

Now go outside and shoot something. You will fell better after that for sure.
