They only command a premium when a sucker is ready to buy. They're a little better built than the Soviet or Chinese but let's face it, they're still just an SKS. I wouldn't go more than $300 for a Yugo unless it was MINT.

I woud gladly pay only $600 for a high grade (tier 1 if you're an AR fanboy) Euro-built modernized SKS with a quality finish. Surplus arms are just that, surplus. Hand-me-downs from has-been tin pot dictatorial nations who cranked them out by the millions, and are only worth a couple hundred bucks.SKS is not a cheap rifle.If will be produced today in Europe will cost at least the same as AK 47 Romanian that is sold in US for 600$.
