Fake Cans/Supressor/Silencer... Whatever you want to call them

The best fake cans I have ever seen were the Advanced Armament Corp (AAC) produced M4 2000 (black) and SCAR (tan) that came with an authentic Blackout flash hider that interfaced with the can....as does the real one. These were offered here by a memeber (can`t recall his name) on CGN a few years ago. I bought one from Target Sports and a few from EE. They were in the $300 range and are very rare now....wish I would not have sold the ones I had just because they are now collectible items. As one knows, AAC produces some of the finest real suppressors on the market today. The fake cans they made could be "shot" with in place on the firearm. We had a few out to the range and they functioned flawlessly as did the AR and SIG rifles they were mounted on. They did not supress sound at all so there would be no legal issues to worry about...it would be just a very big flash hider...lol

Also had experience with some of MFI`s fake cans on HK USP 45 Tactical as well as HK Mark 23....again these are exceptional and functional fake silencers. They also make some for AR`s,etc.

here is a pic of the fake AAC cans

I would take one of those in 5/8x24 thread. I wish someone would bring them in. I can't find anything on the Questar site.

OP, Armco has made up some fake cans and they have them in stock according to their website. Threaded for 1/2x28, go to the "used section" and they are towards the bottom of the page and priced at $79. Hope that helps.

Dunno how threads on that subject got long winded.... a fake suppressor doesn't decrease the noise from the firearm, therefore not a suppressor therefore not illegal.

However if a fake suppressor looks like a real suppressor (never mind the functionality)
it will be deemed prohibited since "they" love to prohibit things based on their look-alike-ability, AK-47 anyone?

No. The law prohibiting silencers is specific in that it specifies a result without mentioning a look or technology.

Wow... uhm... the AK is Prohib beacause it's Full auto... otherwise it'd go the Restricted by name, or Non-Res by barrel length like the CZs

Yeah what Suputin said. It has 100% to do with function and not with look.

What? There are semi only ak's and there are full auto cz/vz's

Plenty of stores sell fake cans

Way off, ak/variants are prohib by name like ar/variant are restricted by name.

But that doesn't mean things don't get prohib based on looks.

hey, I can only find links here for .223 or .22 rifles fake cans, need help finding a place to get a .45 fake can from, tried questar already but no dice... any leads?

Whoa thats a zombie thread and a half! Looking for a fake .45 can eh?

Step 1: buy a GSG 1911 with a .22 silencer.

Step 2: Thread fake can onto your 1911 in .45

Step 3: Fire your 1911 in .45

Step 4: Holy smokes you made your own!!

*disclaimer* don't do this

it is easy enough to find a retailer who sells fake silencers, but where do I find a store that sells fake potatoes?

it is? where? I cannot find ANYONE who sells fake cans for a .45, online or brick and mortar... give me a dealers name please

cant get them from the states since they are "SME" apparently
