.40 cal work in progress.

Why the backward sights?

They've been fixed as you can see in the second pic. The funny thing is I shot more accurately with them backwards!!!
The front rail is also misaligned a bit, which has been fixed. I found it hard to tighten this YHM and keep it straight without YHM's own wrench which is in the mail from Brownells at this moment to make life a little easier.

Hey newless, would you be able to give us a breakdown of all the upgrades you've done?

Sure,
Magpul Miad grip
Magpul CTR stock with extended buttpad
Magpul Mbus flip ups
Magpul XTM rail covers
Barrel shroud which quite a few CGN members have
YHM 9 inch "lightweight" forend
Surefire mini scout 300a
Surefire Sr-07 pressure switch (very hard to get in Canada)

I told myself this gun would be done by summer but it's not.
I'm looking at longer rails and a Eotech xps and different rail covers.
Then it will be done!
I think

Hey, I was the one that started that ball rolling! :)

Can please you tell me the process with the quad rail change? That's my next addition, I would like to know exactly what I will need and the process.

Great looking JR!

Yep, your post on the shroud was how I learned of it's existence.
The Yankee Hill Machine forends are a direct bolt on replacement with no mods needed.
Although I've found that YHM's own forend wrench is needed to get the proper torque.
I have three other AR-15 wrenches that do nothing for their jam nut.
It's all marked up from me hitting it with whatever I could find.

Thanks!

When you put the rail forend on, you can keep it centred by putting an AR carry handle across the 2 sections, that way it won't move so easily.

Thats a great idea

How does one rig the JR for a sling. not like a hunting rifle that is obvious, I would take a pic of my JR and post it but i am having a hard time with my left hand at the moment. (slamed the thumb and base of thumb in the bolt of my M1 again, and does it smart) ;(

Terrible pic but the only one I have on my phone. I can't take credit for the mods though, guy before me did most of those! One thing this thread had made clear to me...I need to get off my butt and order a shroud! They look awesome!

I use a cheap 4" optics riser I paid $3 for from China on eBay .. Works great .. Tried it freehand once .. Was missing a third hand or something .... Said never again ..
