I was just wondering if anyone has ever replaced the locking block or trigger/sear housing block on their Glock or M&P pistols. What's the most common part that usually has to be replaced. Just looking at stocking some spare parts for both.

Both guns are capable of shooting tens of thousands of rounds without problems. You will probably break before the guns do.

That said the first thing to cause a problem with any pistol will be the magazine springs.

After that, recoil springs and the striker and/or striker spring.

For the M&P I might want to have a spare Striker and spring on hand along with a trigger return spring and a recoil spring.

I'd agree with Bob, a spare striker assembly, return spring and recoil spring or two and you're good for at least 20,000 rounds. I'm over 30K and I've replaced 3 recoil springs, and still have a spare striker assembly and return spring. This is with the first generation striker, which was changed because it was thought to be fragile, the new strikers are a much better design. As far as needing to replace a locking block or sear block goes, looking at the wear on mine so far, I'd say I have at least another 60,000 rounds before I even begin to look at that.

You will likely never wear out a glock magazine spring. Breaking the corner of the follower is far more common. The mag will work it just won't hold open.

As for parts. The trigger spring is cheap and area a lot of cycles. Same goes for recoil spring. I've never changed a striker spring but wouldn't hurt.
