Tactical shotguns?

Hunt and target shoot.
Same thing you'd do with nearly all other shotguns, just generally in a more convenient package.

Some guys simply just aren't into wood stocks or long cumbersome barrels. (like myself)

I personally:
- shoot IPSC shotgun matches.
- shoot trap & skeet
- hunt deer (after removing the +2 ext, and adding a magazine plug)

...all with my 18.5 Nova tactical. The ghost ring sights and side saddle are great for these applications. An yes I hit stuff.

I get the IPSC competition and even deer but have never seen anyone step to the line at a skeet/trap field, everything about those things makes them the wrong choice to hit a clay in flight. There is a reason people use 30" barrelled guns that weigh 8 pounds. I guess it's a legal alternative to an assault rifle for those who like that.

Not on the skeet field. We're only talking 22 yards. I have competed with 20" pump guns, 20" double barrel double trigger coach guns, 22/28/30" semi's, and 30" over and unders. Does not make a lick of difference. Comes down to the shooter. A good one can make anything work.

There are no rules on the skeet field.

23/25. I average 16-18 most days with it. The other skeet guys crank up their muffs when I bring it out

I shoot clays with mine mostly but once and a while I shoot buck or slugs. I used to not undersand why people get them. But after I got my 590, I can say I am totally hooked.

Primarily mine is for occasions like this . . .

Nice pics, and agreed can't beat a shotty that can hold 18 shells including the side saddle and stock.

I have shot Skeet and Trap with guys shooting 18" barreled Shotguns. I am now part of the hearing impaired. Funny I thought my Love for Led Zepplin would have gotten me there sooner.
