So I think it's time to replace the skeleton stock on my XCR ... I'm finding that it's sitting a little too low for a good cheek weld and I'd like something with a build in cup for a swivel stud.

I've decided that I'll pass on the FAST stock even though it looks pretty awesome. The reason; if I'm hunting coyotes with my XCR there is a good chance ill be using a bipod and I like to use my support hand under the stock of a rifle to steady it, much like a sand bag would do. So for that to work well, I need something that has a more traditional butt stock shape. I'm thinking a Magpul ACS or STR or CTR ... I'm leaning more towards a simple CTR because you can get cheek risers.

So, do the NEA or Dlask stock adapters raise the height of the tube?

What tube is compatible with the Dlask adapter? Magpul offers the Commerical and Military specs so I'm assuming this means that I need to figure out what tube I'll be buying as I have none at the moment.

Thoughts? Pics?

The dlask adapter keeps the main tube about the same height, or a little lower. The NEA Gen2 one lowers it less i think but adds an inch and a half of extra length.

I would do the Dlask one (which has a nice sling loop point) with a CTR, as you said you can use risers which work really well. The buffer tubes both use the same thread pitch, so go with whatever tube you can find cheaper and get the corrosponding stock. The Mil spec ones will be stronger though, but more expencive. and by stronger, i talking maybe 10 - 15% so its not much of a big deal anyways. The commercial spec CTR does come with a rubber butt pad though, not sure if the mil spec still does not.

Tikka I found the same problem with the skeleton stock.
As a cheap solution, $1 or less, go to your local hardware store and get some 1 inch pipe insulation put it on your stock.
It cost me some 87 cents and gave me the perfect cheek weld height for the irons and even a scope!

I was going to run this route too but I want to be able to sling the XCR properly since I like to walk around when I hunt. That metal loop in the skelton stock is too small for the QD swivels.
