I was talking to one of my buddies about an episode of sons of guns I saw about making the perfect civilian zombie rifle

The guys came up with this;

Red_Jacket_ZK22__4f9206156be23.jpg

He told me that he had heard that the stock may be illegal here in Canada, I was just looking for some information into it.

I plan on getting a 10/22 and wouldnt mind getting that stock from Red Jacket if its possible.

You can own the firearm but you can't own the stock that the rifle can go into...

It would fall under prohibited bull pup stock but a rifle made that way is fine because you didn't drop it into a stock

Guns that were made as bullpups are legal.

Except the ones prohibited by name. Liberals... maybe they thought the future wouldn't happen? :p

G22, it's like... <error>

FS2000, it's like, from the future.

PS90, it's like, from the future.

Type 97, it's... <error>

Tavor, it's like, from the future.

RFB, it's like, from the future.

GM6, it's like, from the future.

IT IS NON-RESTRICTED

Not all bullpups are illegal.
Not all sub-18" barrels are illegal.
Not all 'assault rifles' are illegal.
Not all evil, black rifles are illegal.

Yes, it does seem you can buy one (please tell me I missed something, as it LOOKS like it must be illegal)
The government works in mysterious ways, but not only is it NOT PROHIBITED, IT IS NOT EVEN RESTRICTED.
FOR ONLY $3000. you, too can own a FN PS90 zombie killing machine. Check out Questar.

It has a Questar 18" modded barrel, and if you could somehow find its military ammo you can hunt with it.

You're welcome!

Sorry, I should clarify.... If you want the gun I've referenced then go for it. I you want to MAKE. a .22lr version, then you may be doing something illegal. Ask CFC first. Just re-read and noticed you want it in .22lr.

Sorry for any misdirection.........although it is amazing we can own the Questar item legally!

Step One: See thread title, look at picture.

Step Two: Respond. Use bold type for emphasis. Lots of capital letters, lots of exclamation marks. Provide links that further your important points. Include amateur legal advice if possible, as well as editorial comment regarding existing legislation. Above all, and at all costs...post immediately.

Step Three: Actually read original post.

Step Four: Retract.

...just kidding, Urbansherpa. I couldn't resist, your two posts back-to-back made me chuckle.

Thanks JJ, Had to get post two up as soon as I re-read the OP! (he wants a .22 version)
But anyway,.... Hard to believe I can buy a PS90. Take it to the gun club, set it up on the table and wait for the "ooh"s and "ahhh"s!

Bullpups still elude me....some seem good to go and some are not?

Bullpup firearms are not prohibited, bullpup stocks are. Bullpup firearms where the stock is formed by components of the rifle are legal. If you can remove the action from the stock and still fire it, then you have a prohibited device in the form of a bullpup stock. Guns like the Tavor are legal because there is no separate stock, when you field strip them down to a barrelled action the gun cannot be fired.

From the CC regulations:
2. Any rifle, shotgun or carbine stock of the type known as the “bull-pup” design, being a stock that, when combined with a firearm, reduces the overall length of the firearm such that a substantial part of the reloading action or the magazine-well is located behind the trigger of the firearm when it is held in the normal firing position.
