:(Unfortunately they had all been clipped by cars on the roadways... Two in the midday and one in the early evening.. I do believe that the bucks are starting to move in S/W Ontario...

Anyone starting to see some rutting behaviour in Ontario??

You must be on the road quite a bit!

As for activity... Last week I saw two rubs on small trees in our deer hunting area.

Have not seen a buck yet, hoping my trailcams catch some bucks on camera!

Cheers

Yes! the rut is starting. I was out at my deer hunting property yesterday in WMU 63 & I found 2 scrape lines with a total of 9 big scrapes! It's looking good for one of us to get a nice buck this year. :D

Going out Friday for the hunt this weekend. KevinM. who I hunt with spooked a large buck right by out stand late this summer and I hope the bugger is still hangin around. Haven't seen much actual deer, but plenty of tracks.

Out of curiosity, what did the Ministry of Nocturnal Releases do/say about these deer? Did they allow you to keep them? I know when I was working in Algonquin Park, SOP was to allow drivers who killed big game with their vehicles to keep the animal if they so chose, with no qualms about it.

Watched a little fork horn chase a doe across a cut bean field tonight at about 6pm. He grunted the entire time, Was hoping the big boy would come following the trail but never did.

Usually the driver who hit them can take them if they want. If they don't I make arrangements for someone who will use the meat.
