Savage 99 in 30-40

I wasn't aware Savage produced the 99 in .30/40 Krag. Are you sure it isn't a .32/40?

I personally have never head of it myself either or seen one for sale. I was reading the Wikipedia page on the Savage 99 today and it claimed that they were available in 30-40, but then again, you can never trust Wikipedia. If these are out there, I would want one.

savage were never made in 30-40 the action is to short for a cartridge that long

I know a fella that has a takedown 1899 Savage in .303 in it's original wooden case. Complete with the factory original spare .410 shotgun barrel. There even was an advert flyer for an Upper NY state guiding business included. This was purchased by the grandfather who farmed in Upper NY.
Every now and again he mentions half heartedly he wishes to sell it. And I cringe internally picturing the freckling of surface corrosion on it!
