So I found myself an almost like new Remington 870 Express 20 gauge with a modified choke.. Now I plan on getting a cylinder choke and a full or extended turkey choke for different hunting variables but the question I have is can I shoot rifled slugs through this shotgun with the modified choke in it?? I've been told by a fellow who sells Carlson chokes that it is ok to shoot slugs through the mod choke...On the other hand on other forums the consensus is no unless it's improved modified... I'd like to hear it from my fellow gun nutz...

Improved modified is tighter than modfied, so that doesn't make any sense. Maybe you meant improved cylinder?
For hunting chokes it goes like this from most open to most restriction: cylinder bore, improved cylinder, modified, improved modified, full, extra full.
Don't waste your time asking for opinions, call or email remington directly and ask them what they recommend. That's what I did when i was wondering about steel shot in an older wingmaster with a fixed modified choke. They said that would be OK, and based on that I'd speculate lead slugs would be OK, but just call them and ask.
