I got into reloading and started with my 9mm using a Lee Pro 1000, now with less than 500 rounds made on it, I bought a second complete Lee Pro 1000 setup for my .45acp. I bought primers for everything over a month ago knowing full well I would eventually reload both calibers. I got small ones for the 9mm and large ones for the 45.acp (I know some of you already see where this is going LOL)

To obtain all of my brass, I bought 1000 rounds of Wolf 9mm bullets and 800 Wolf .45 bullets. This was done a while ago when I got all my guns so I just wanted bullets to shoot and last long enough to start reloading.

So I put together my new Lee setup for .45 and reading the instructions over, I see something about watching out for .45 cases with small pistol primers. Sure enough, of the 200 empty cases I took out to the garage tonight, 80 of them are ICC and Blazer and Federal cases with small primers. This will be useless to me.

So my main question is this, when shopping for once fired brass, so far most places list it as "mixed brass", is there a way to ensure I only get large primer brass?

Thanks GN'ers

Ask them if they are all large or small primer. There's nothing wrong with either of them, as long as they are not mixed together.

A little far from Ottawa or I would trade you dakotamar.

I may have some coming in soon after doing some more looking around and thanks to some info from curese, thanks.

Once I go through all of my purchased bullets and sort them, I'll likely just put them up on here for sale or trade, dont really wanna mess around changing my presses for this.

yeah i just save up all the small primer stuf and save it for one run.. no biggie just swap the primer inserter on my loader and ther we go.

One day you might run out of large pistol primers and will be thankful you saved a stash of small pocket 45. Or, you might sell them as suggested by others.
