I'm not sure about your aim..but to have a 400lbs bear running at you would be hard to get anything in his eye ball.. but this is a fantasy situation... lol

Carry some baseballs with you, throw them at the bear if it charges you. If that doesn't faze the bear, drop your pants and invite it for some lovin'. That might save you.

IMO a .45 acp just doesnt have the energy. If its GOT to be a semi auto, a 10mm with some hot n heavy tmj or heavy cast would probly be the best you could do. Ive been looking into this myself and i know its not semi auto, but what about a mares leg in .44mag? Small, light, and non-restricted...
