Why no .29 Cal?

Are you going bore or groove/bullet size? By bullet size and rounding to two decimal places I can think of.22s, .23s, .24s, no .25s, .26s, no .27s, .28s, some .29s (now) no .30s and a pile of 31s. There's 32s, some old .33s and a pile of.34s, don't know about .35s but theres lots of .36s.

I read that article years ago. I believe they resized the 7.5 Scmidt Rubin and swaged some .30 cal bullets down to 29 calibre.

Well was just curious why we don't see a 29-06 or 290..maybe even a 290 wsm, something based off cases we are familiar with.?? Not interested in buying one but they've made other cartridges that makes you wonder ie 30tc, 243 wssm ect... and 29 cal would be something new, seems like everything else has been exhausted??

I've been looking for info on the B29,I heard Rifle magazine did a write up but i missed it.

The B-29 is a ficticious cartridge brought to print by gun rag writer John Barsness in Rifle magazine.

No rifles were built, but it did create a headache for the editor as a considerable number of clueless readers tried to get one made asap.

This might be answered by looking back at the question: Why was the US Military us a .45?

Becasue they don't make a .46!

There is no doubt a .290 could be made much like the .230 when you could not use a .224 on game.

With enough money anything is possible. What would it accomplish that a .284 or .308 could not?

Well a 296 would be sweet. The flat shooting of a 284 and the smack of a 308. Who cant see the benifit? It would go with my 235-06

Sectional Density between 284 and 296 or 296 and 308 would be worth it? Or to get better BC with a few grain lighter bullet? Talk about splitting hairs. However my love of all firearms would for e me to find one.
