well they recieved my app for pal and rpal in the mail today!

ok, I don't feel too bad then, you are 3 days ahead of me.

I just hate dealing with the government on things like this. Passports etc. Seems like it takes for ever and any little thing, real or percieved will either get you denied or have to wait, explain, run thru some more hoops etc.

And I really want to get this, I am super excited to be able to get into this more!

Here's mine so far...

Application for PAL/RPAL received Oct 15th
Status changed November 2nd
Current Status: Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date.

You may have some time to wait yet. The "initial" is just the CFP part as I recall. The real wait is now for the BC CFO. Submitted mine in May and it took 95 days from received to processed and issued. Good luck, hope yours is faster.

Called today and was initially told a letter was sent asking for further info, put on hold for 5 mins then told all was in order. They were not ready to do the interview but said I would be called in a couple of days. Status changed to in progress following the call.

Good luck on dealing with those folks..for some odd reason the BC CFO appears to feel they need not work for the taxpayer..they seem to just not do much..just my observation after waiting lengthy periods for legitimate gun transfers...

Called in for my interview today then got both of my references to do the same. All complete so now the wait for BC CFO office to process.

Yep seems the BC CFO isn't doing much of anything recently. There's a few threads about long wait times and no way to contact anyone. Funny they send a letter asking for more info but when you call "everything is in order". WTF? I didn't catch the date you said they received your application. The mandatory 28 day waiting period starts from THAT date, not the date it's entered into the system. So at least your wait time has elapsed.

The 28 days was up yesterday. Not sure what extra info they thought they needed but I must say all the agents I spoke with were polite and pleasant to deal with.

All the politeness aside, I am at my 135 th day of waiting.
For firearms licensing must be great to live in other provinces rather than BC.

November 13th: They called me to do the interview and have left messages for both my references.
I've been in touch with references and they will call in tomorrow.

My husband and I sent our applications in together, so far exactly the same processing times, they called him for his interview about 45 minutes after they called me. When he asked about our references they actually suggested we have them call in.
So now we will be on to the BC CFO and we'll wait some more....
