Having a heck of a time figuring out which chokes the M4 takes:confused:. Near as I can tell, it's the Mobil series. Is that correct? If so, any Benelli/Beretta chokes marked Mobil will work? Also, anyone seen a Benelli M4 straight/field stock for sale in Canada? Thanks!

Sorry partner, I'm going to hijack your thread since you have abandoned it :)

I dont know too much about shotguns and would like to know where I can find "chokes" for my Benelli M4. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

The Nova, Supernova and M4S90 use the benelli mobil choke systems. Any choke for those three SHOULD fit in your M4. I have an M4, but it's always worn the mod choke that shipped with it. :)

Straight stocks ARE around, but man are they rare. I got one with my M4 in a deal (as well as collapsable) and never installed it. Sold it in minutes for $300 in the EE... i didn't think much of it then, but I should have kept it.

Strait stock are so much better than the collapsiblefor shouldering and checkweld, if you have the choice buy the strait stock... JP.

Pistol grip buttstocks need to be run differently than straight stocks.

For one thing too many folks make the mistake of using the pistol grip to try to push the gun away from them in an attempt to save their shoulder from recoil, when they should be using the grip to help pull it in tight.

Another thing is that the pistol grip can get n the way if you're used to rotating the gun to load or otherwise manipulate it with a straight stock.

I actually prefer the pistol grip stock for tactical type shooting, I find them easier to shoulder quickly, keep shouldered and makes it easier to use your other hand for things like opening a door, working a phone etc while still keeping the gun more-or-less at the ready.

I have to disagree a bit as well with the straight vs. collapsible stock debate as well on the M4.
I looked at both types of stocks quite a bit before I ultimately decided to go with the collapsible version as I felt it truly was more ergonomic and comfortable. Was a little nervous that it wouldn't be as usable for trap and skeet shooting, but after using it and the ring sights on it and enjoying it a lot, I tried several friends straight stock shotguns and didn't like them near as much, so I guess it is a personal thing after all. For me, I definitely wouldn't go back or regret my decision.

Owning one off each configuration my preference is the regular pistol grip strait stock, not there is a big difference but like you say it is personal... JP.

That Dewinton shotgun range had some Briley mobil chokes when i was there last. About two weeks ago - I picked up a Briley mobil choke for my M1S90 Field when there.

You have to watch out for M2 chokes which are Crio thread style.

guys I'd like to thank you all for this input! one more question: what is the best choke for a tight pattern for 00buck ?
