So I like saw one of these at a local gun store and Im just kinda trying to increase my knowledge on them, the gun is like 470$ is that over priced? They seem retardedly hard to find. All info is welcome!

There are acouple carbine versions out there....the M-44 has a folding bayonet and I have a M-38 which doesnt have any bayonet.
I like my M-38....especially because flame comes out the barrel while shooting ...lol
I belive that is a pretty high price for one...

I paid $270 including 200 rounds of ammo 2 months ago!!! $470 is insane!!!!....having said that, I highly recommend one. They are simple, cheap, and fun. They kick good and make a loud bang (fireball) I love mine! PM me if you have any questions.

It does seem high, but someone will likely pay for it. They are relatively hard to come by, and when availability dictates value, prices do weird things...

Westrifle has a thread on their subforum about bringing in some "museum quality" 38s and 44s for not much more than the price you found. But there's no firm ETA.

I bought two unissued Mosin-Nagant M44s for $149.99 back in 2009 at a local gun store. When I say unissued, the things never had a round fired through them besides proof rounds at the factory! :p

$470 is way overpriced!

That price seems really up there considering whats been around the past two years and the average of $175-250 per rifle..other than mint Polish examples for $3-400...I'd keep looking too

The Polish M44 is hard to beat as far as finish is concerned. The stock and metal are excellent and they are regarded as the nicest of all M44's made... they are post war,and I have to admit I have an affinity for war dated carbines...all depends on what you want..

I was just on the EE and saw a never fired still in cosmoline polish m44 for 495$ and from what I see he has very fair prices on everything els so maybe there's no more polish m44s to be had( no more to import). As a new rifle the price is fair but they are still military surplus.
