Just wondering if these would be prohib.

If things were only prohibited based on their names, we'd have some delicious loopholes in our laws.

AK's would be prohibited, but an Arsenal SGL 21 would not be as it's not named as prohibited.
HK-91's would be prohibited, but PTR-91's wouldn't.
FN FAL's would be prohibited, but I don't believe the Brazilian IMBEL ones would as I don't think they're named as prohibited.

Sadly, that's not how it works. It goes off of a "variant" system which prohibits every firearm mechanically related to the ones that are named as prohibited.
 
Not even mechanically related. If they LOOK like one, prohib. Remember the .22LR AK-47 lookalikes they recently prohibited after they had been non restricted for a very long time. Owners got 30 day letters from the RCMP ordering them to destroy or relinquish them.

You're correct, of course, but that's not the law. Them being prohibited due to being lookalikes is due to the RCMP thinking that they are the law, not because they were following the actual laws we have.

Legally, those rifles should continue to be non-restricted.

agreed-but reality has nothing to do with political correctness-they look "mean"- therefore-they are prohibited-I had Armi Jager-AK,Galil and FAMAS .22 copies
