I am in the mood to buy another rifle, made a lot of reading on the FN Herstal rifle and one is available now, anyone with one that could talk a bit about it, i am looking to get my first short magnum in 300 WSM... JP.

I have had one for several years in 300 wsm. I think it is called a police patrol rifle. Heavy fluted barrel comes with picatinny rail by Richard Near from Alberta. I got one of his incredible one piece mounts to match the rail
The bolt has a latch to dissemble it. I have shot 3-400 rounds and it ihas excellent accuracy but could use a better stock..

that was the thing holding me back back from getting one in 223. I hate it when you get a crap stock with a nice barreled action just to save a few bucks. Im not bashing your purchase caramel just my opinion.

I like hogue stock, having them on my Icon's, i like the feel and the bulkiness of them... JP.
 
The FN 300 WSM Tactical TSR XP with the OD green Hogue stock and the piccanity rail, fluted heavy barrel 24 in... JP.
 
Just awsome, only had one outing with it with some commercial ammo, all of the ammo was sub moa and the Barnes Vortex 165 gr cluster an average of .5 @ 200 metres, definitely and above quality shooter, got some Lapua Scenars 155 gr rolled and will try them in the Spring, just a great rifle in all aspects... JP.
 
I am seriously thinking of getting the same from Prophet in 223 in a few days to fit under the nice Swarzoski i got from Santa. JP.
