Picked up a 5-15x44 Vortex Viper HS mildot .01 mrad scope, although I really liked the 20x SS I had on it I really needed a variable magnification scope for hunting.

here are a few pictures.

That's the Vortex bubble level that he has mounted to the scope...

Thank you sir.

It looks good. It has a nice offset so you can read it easily. My Sinclair one is tough to read. It is mostly covered by the turret.

Are they pretty much on par with the rest of Vortex's other products?

Make me jealous why don't you. I had that scope picked out as my next one, then I found out you can't get them up here. They seem like a great scope for the price

Lucky! Those scopes can not get here in Canada. It is a midway usa special. I wish. These are the types of scopes Vortex needs to sell all over.

What do you mean, the HS isn't available?

I know stores have the HS and PST Vipers. Can't say for sure about magnification but I know both the PST 4-16 and 6-24 are available for sure.

True they are hard to come by, but they are here. I know of one PST 6-24 MOA reticle at the moment that is in stock.

That is a Viper HS Tactical. Notice it has uncapped turrets for both the windage and elevation (HS models only have an uncapped elevation turret)? It also features no illuminated reticle (unlike the PST). Feel free to let me know where you can find any Vortex Viper with 5-15 magnification period, let alone a Viper HS Tactical. I am quite familiar with HS and PST models but this scope is technically none of the above and was only offered by Midway USA, hence we could never get them in Canada.

If you can find me a source that offers this scope, in Canada, then I will shut my mouth.

Took it out and let 10 rounds fly, sighting in and getting muzzle velocity, then took at shot at 300 yards on a rock and 405 yards on a rock... both first round hits. Picked up a tall bipod and sling and buttler caps today. Its ready to go whack some coyotes!!!

This weekends coyote competition

Left Friday night, slept in a tent in the rain, made 12 stands today, heavy clouds and some rain, drove 300 miles, 80 miles on very slick dirt roads. Competition check in is at 4 tomorrow afternoon. And I am home now where it is warm and not wet inside. Still raining pretty good out side. I will bet up an hour before the sun to see if its still raining or snowing. If not...... here we go again

You level is behind the turret, can you even see it? I had the same problem and ended up buying a side folding level .

Just fondling scopes at the gun stores/shows lately I really like vortex vs the sightrons, but am real impressed with some of the bushnell elite tactical stuff, specificaly the 34mm tube offering.
