Got the Walnut hardwood furniture (paid a little more for walnut) from Ironwood Designs, a buddy who is a hobby woodworker stained it for me with Danish Oil, came out really nice. Unfortunately I didn't have the right screwdriver to take out the pistol grip to install the new wood. Will acquire the right one and take care of it. Also when installing my friend put a nice scrape on the top handguard, it will go back to the woodworker to sand and finish again. I'm very impressed with the wood. The rifle is a CZ858 15.5". What do you guys think? Handguards are thicker, everything looks and feels better than the stock crap. The wood pistol grip is also longer than stock, but not quite as long as the aftermarket polymer one.
No flash (too dark in the room, not the best pic)

$229 Shipped for Walnut (a little more for Walnut furniture-worth it). Got lucky, no duties. My woodworker friend didn't charge me either which is nice (I offered him money and he refused). Google "Ironwood Designs" if you are interested. They ship to Canada and their wood is beautiful. However, they are usually backlogged and a little wait is in order.

Thanks, I think it looks great too. It will look better once the pistol grip is installed. I'll try to get an outdoor pic when everything is done. Everything is matched nicely, all wood has nice, aggressive grain...

I actually like the "beaver barf but I will repeat.....that's the sweetest wood I've seen on a CZ-VZ! Reminds me of a FAL or other classic rifle.

Nice it is finally showing up. I contacted Matt on Dec 21, 2008 asking for this product. I still have the email. ;)

Got mine in 90 days, from email to in my hands. I am sure the backlog isn't that bad...

Can't beat WALNUT. What every stock should be made of. The rifle feels better, looks better, longer and thicker pistol grip... what the stock furniture should be. My buddy, the hobby woodworker did a fantastic job and he refused payment. Guess I owe him one.

I agree with the fact the rifle just feels better with the wood but you CAN beat walnut wood. Lots of rare hardwood strains out there with fantastic grain.
