Very nice choice on caliber. There's something weird about a left hand bolt gun. (only kidding)

Will be interesting to see how she shoots. I wasn't sure if I should get a Tikka SuperVarmint or a Savage Model12 LRPV when I started out. I picked the Savage. Both in 204ruger.

good to see fellow lefty starting a new and very expensive hobby!
keep it up and hope you enjoy the new rifle

What a coincidence I just bought the same rifle but in .223, same scope as well except mine is 6x24x40. I took mine out for the first time a couple weeks ago with cheap american eagle ammo and now I'm seriously questioning whether or not I should reload for it, my buddies tactical is the same way. That should tell you something about tikkas.

My .223 LH Varmint has more kills than other other rifle I own (ok except my 10/22!). Deadly accurate and mags are awesome. No regrets on the purchase. VERY accurate. Even working up loads, EVeRY load I tried was under 1" at 100. Best is about .40", and I'm reloading on a dillon 550b.

That is the longest scope I've ever seen a man blessed with. The Tikka looks like a fine rifle, I'll need to get me one some day.

Nice looking rifle there but the bolt is on the wrong side lol. I kid I kid. I'm left handed also.

The scope isnt that long the sun shade adds a few inches(~4")

you will love the rifle. my own opinion is they are the most accurate factory guns out there. you will love the cartidge too. no recoil so just perfect for learning how to develop precision skills

I put 60 rounds thru it today. Just some history on me, I haven't shot a firearm in 20 years other than air guns that I play with at the cottage. We got her zeroed in on 100 yards. My best 5 shot group was about 1.5". A friend, an avid shooter shot 3 @ 100 yards touching. So I know the rifle is bang on. I just need practice. It had way more recoil than I expected. I definitely couldn't see my shots hit. I think I'd like to lighten up the trigger a bit but its a nice trigger.
Head space was real tight with 40 grain hornadys. Bolt was tight to go down. With 2 other types of ammo it was perfect.

What twist is your barrel? 40gr bullets may be alittle to long for 1 in 12".

My Savage with a 1in12" twist shoots Sierra 39gr blitz kings very well.

Yes. 1/12 twist. I shot 32 and 40 grain hornadys and 34 grain Remington's. No difference in accuracy over 100 yards but as I explained, I'm not the best shot. A better shot would probably expose the difference between bullet weights better.
