Colt 9mm mags?

Colt 32/5 with steel followers and the plastic pro-mag that Questar brought as a one time deal....Ya I heard but how are they legal? A stamp on it saying LAR does not legal make or we could have 10/30 for the 5.56mm. Probably a little ooopsy on Questars part and the powers that be just look the other way. There can't be that many in the country for them to worry about.
NOPE its 100% legal RCMP approved for the 9mm 32/10rnd mags its the SAME as any other pinned pistol magazine
C'mon, if they were they would bring them in by the carload. It is not a PISTOL mag it is a CARBINE mag. When I was dealing with H Y C A P S, I sent him picks of it and everything and he would not pin the mags to 10. He even inquired about them to RRA and they had no idea of there existence. I am not telling people that they are prohib devices but it just seems a little sketcy. If they are 100% then bring some more in, but even the uzi pistol mags modified for AR were not legal to pin to ten or Riley would have done it for I think $60 apiece. What would the diference be if you marked a promag LAR and pinned it to ten? I just think they made some and then sombody said "wait a minuite, that's not right, we will let these slide by but don't do it again" Maybe somebody from Questar can chime in and let us know why those mags are "unobtainium" Because I'm sure it's not that there is no market for them.

So why did Questar not bring more plastic or steel 10/32 mags in? Was it cause they couldn't get more or they just didn't think it was worth the effort cause they wouldn't sell? I don't think its a huge market, but I also don't believe the market is anywhere near dead. In order of desire:
1) Metal 10/32
2) Plastic 10/32
3) Metal 5/32 + shortie 10 rders (I want both)
If IRUNGUNS brings 5/32s in, I'll being buying them.

Till some guy imports a crap load of them. Then the market falls out....

Never going to happen...I remember when the guys at Wolverine said they wouldn't carry Pmags because they weren't pinned, of course logic prevailed and now they do.
But high capacity pinned 9mm AR mags, these are an extremely rare and elusive mag, far beyond the current reach of every dealer in Canada, impossible to acquire, just ask them....
It's easier to buy a .50 cal gun, does that make any sense?
I was at a gun dealer that deals exclusively with Colt in the US last week. He said he would sell me the mags at $50 a piece. He said I could use his shop to pin them. I just have to fill out the DSP-83 and a number of companies can export them. Too many people on this site live in a dream world...

Yea because we all drive down to the US to talk to our Colt exclusive dealers, with competitive prices of $50 a mag and use their shop to pin them at - I think for most of us on this site that is a dream.
Seriously though, you have the time (and why are you running a WTB ad for Colt 9mm mags?) and the connections, go for it.
I'll happily pay you $75 a mag, giving you a 50% mark up for your troubles.
It just shouldn't be that complicated, but it seems to be.

So this is like the G22, whats good today is not good tomorrow. Go figure with the RCMP. so some lucky SOB's got 10/32's that ae legal and not to be seen again.
Colt 9mm is very difficult to work with, if it is anything like UZI magazines. Many years ago I tried to convert UZI mags to work with Colt by cutting a notch in it.
The gunsmith did the job but it kills his tool over a couple of magazines. That sheet steel is hard. He swore to god he would never ever do it again.
There is a reason why no one wants to deal with these 9mm magazines. It is not fun. Seriously, just hunt down those dedicated 10 rounders offered by the dealers and leave the troubles behind.

I did mine by hand with a Dremel tool and blade, and they work fine, again, other than last shot bolt lock.
The mag release slot needs to be done, as well as the back spine needs to be taken down a bit. I also used the blade for that as well. Never had a stoppage.
