punched extra hole in primer pocket

I was using the decapping pin from a lee classic loader. It was off center when I hit it with the hammer. I obviously hit it too hard. It was prvi. Glad I could provide some laughs. I'm new to reloading but I definitely know verdant from boxer.

You mean Berdan?

The decapping pin would break long before you could punch a hole through the bottom of rifle brass, unless I am not seeing something here....

I was trying to type on my first supposedly smart phone and my original description was also lacking. The decapping tool just caught the edge of the flash hole and gouged out a very small circular area, thereby enlarging the flash hole. Anyway, I've found this forum helpful so glad I could provide a few chuckles.

Without humor wouldn't this place be fun! Myself I would toss it, last thing I would want is primers beating up my bolt face, or leaking gasses.

Yeah I did toss it. Why take a chance over 65 cents worth of brass. This is my first try at reloading. Fun stuff and I'm impressed with the results from the lee classic.

Goverino you need a good sense of humor to post here as we are all here to have fun. I have used the Prvi and another Yugo (can't remember the brand name just now maybe Bell? not sure) made brass and found that they often have the flash holes off of center. When depriming them I use a dedicated depriming die (it doesn't size at all) so that you can sort of feel if you are hitting something hard and stop. Sometimes I have to back up and turn the case a bit and then it will go. Sounds like that one was off center more than most though. Hope that you keep at this and decide to go for a press someday, you will enjoy that too.
