590 Vs. 870 - Buttstock compatibility/modification

ladies and gents,

how much modification would be needed if one wanted to, lets say, fit a magpul SGA stock (made for the 870) onto a mossberg 590?
Can such a thought even be entertained and if yes, how could it be achieved without damaging the functionnal integrity of the stock?

Here's what someone had to say on another forum. Although it wasn't the Magpul stock you mention, it probably still applies because this is still fitting an 870 stock to a Mossy. In the end, save your money.

"The R870 is clearly stamped "R870". The 870 grip is about a half an inch too narrow for the Mossy....the receiver will overhang the grip by 1/4" on both sides. The top roughly lines up with the receiver but the bottom hangs about 1/4-1/2" too low....and that low plastic, sharp edged, cuts your finger after two or three rounds. The 870 grip also has a squared off trigger guard opening that doesn't fit the round Mossy guard....and to get it to fit, you have to first start the grip bolt and then hold the grip in rough alignment as you tighten it which risks stripping the bolt hole in the receiver as you force it. The bottom edge can be smoothed with a Dremel....the other three sides are too little material already so cutting more doesn't fix them."

I remember reading on the Magpul Dynamics facebook page a post by Magpul hinting towards Magpul coming out with the SGA for Mossberg next shots show!
