I know that throughout history the 22 has been used in black ops and assassinations, usually in silenced pistols. I believe some organizations even used it as there calling card, can anyone quote or referance to any historical or important figures who met there demise with one? I dont mean for this to get dark, more of a historical note.

my grandpa was shot to death by a 22 although he was not famous. this is kind of a dark thread. violence is only fun in action movies and video games not so good in real life trust me.

Hate to burst your bubble, but I too fail to see the point of this thead. As a community of firearms owners, I think most will agree that civilian use revolves around hunting and the various forms of shooting sports and activities, none of which involve assassinations. Is a thread like this good for the firearms community? Sorry, I don't think so.

Agreed, the OP's curiostity would be better served if his question was posed with a search engine in the comfort of their home. Google anyone?

It is topics like these that feed the anti-gun people, they see a gun owner who is more interested in "black rifles", "scarly looking rifles", "firearms designed for defense, assault, tactical etc..." and especially interest in topics regarding human targets. Then lump all firearm owners into this stereotype which is bad for all of us.

I for one think topics like this be left for closed doors, would hate to fuel the gun control idiocy.
