Hi everyone,i've decided the time is right to start reloading my own ammo.I've got a RCBS rock crusher supreme master kit on it's way from Prophet River.Just wondering what the best sources of tools and supplies in Canada (in terms of pricing, shipping rates and ease of payment)are? Thanks for any help

I`ve been picking up stuff for a long time and don`t buy much mail order. I buy most loading supplies at local gunshows from Rayn`er Shine gunworks in Lancer Sk. is hard to beat on price and i think they have an outlet in Alberta. If your buying powder in large amounts you can get a good deal with free shipping from Higginson in Ont. As long as the local shop is fair on prices i will buy there and support local business first.

Since you purchased the kit from Prophet River, check out their prices on components. Their bullet supply is limited, but they handle Lapua brass, and they have a good supply of powders at great prices. I use Raynershine as well as BudgetShooterSupply as well.

Brownells is the best for dies IMO, yes they are in the US but their prices are the best and their shipping is cheap (just ask for least expensive USPS option). For components Budget (sponsor) is generally the best (service, price etc.), although you will find that alot of the time it is better to buy local and avoid shipping costs.

There is no single best source for all things in reloading IMHO and that includes products from any one manufacturer, never mind retailers. If I were you, I'd lay out my budget, reloading plans and thoughts on near term requirements to the folks at Prophet River, for starts, and see what they're able to supply you along with that RCBS kit. You should save some $$ on the shipping that way and maybe more, who knows ? Volume works to everyone's benefit so my guess would be that if enough of the new guys who ordered those RCBS kits were to make similar propositions to PR, they might enable PR to put together some more volume based deals for you. "Worth a try".

you could also check out Grouse River Outfitters in BC. Awesome customer service and stock quite a lot of reloading supplies. Decent web site even!

Other than them, just surf the site sponsors above, and don't be afraid to call them! Mystic Precision, Budget Shooter Supply, reloaders.ca and The Shooting Edge should have anything you need along with GREAT people to help you!

I know this doesnt help you as you're not local and i hear mail ordering is a PITA with em, but Lebarons has the best prices on components. $25 a lbs of powder, $28/1K primers, Hornady projectiles are decently priced....
