browning x-bolt or browning Bar

Buying a new rifle but cant decide between bolt action or autoload
will primarily be a deer gun chambered in 270win
but would also like to use at the range.
definately want either the new x-bolt or the Bar
anyone used both, comments either way
for or against

What ever fits you better I would say.If your used to the bolt action rifles,go with the X bolt.Either one,for me would be a good choice.

Over the course of the rifle's lifetime, you will have less mechanical problems with the X-Bolt.

If you happen to reload, the X-Bolt won't have you chasing brass.

I have a 270 longtrac. Shoots sub moa, and is reliable.

Have a X-Bolt, good trigger, light, absorbs recoil very well, accurate, happy to hunt with it. Handled a BAR, seemed lesser quality in terms of fit and finish and also did not like construction - compare mag well, magazine construction and most importantly fit.

Browning in name only. I know JM had nothing to do with the X-Bolt and pretty sure he had nothing to do with the commercial BAR.
