I'm asking for suggestions on a muzzle devise and the only help you two numbnuts have said is "it's prohibited and you can spell" But hey I understand you guys are from out east and have nothing better to do with your lives other than go to Timmies.

You claim you know the law but clearly you don't. I specifically stated that no device that reduces sound is legal. The law clearly states that. If you actually knew the law, you wouldn't be asking the question to begin with.

You were asked to provide sources for the law you claim to know. If you can't produce sources, I understand why. Because they don't exist.

By the way, if you really wanted to insult us you should have wrote, "I'm asking for suggestions on a muzzle device" and "it's prohibited and you can't spell" in your diatribe. Honestly, I wasn't insulted. Humored yes - insulted no.

While I'm not a Timmies fan as per se, I did have a hot chocolate from there tonight. So, I guess you're right about having too much time on my hands.

I do know the laws. As I stated I know silencers are prohibited. Damn some people are THICK!!!!
Any device that lowers the Dbs more than 3Dbs is considered a silencer.
So I'm asking what people use to atleast change the precived noise level.
I think some people on here must be from Duck Dynasty!

Obviously you don't know the laws. Does your mom know you own firearms?

Someone wanna fill me in on this?

Sure thing! I believe Cancer is referring to the individual who built a pseudo blast chamber on a home (?) range that they shot into while taking aim at the target. The device made with some tires and other material, helped dissipait some of the noise so that it was less offensive to his nearby neighbours. I seriously doubt there'd be much in the way of actual perceived reduction in sound from the shooters perspective.

I think it would be interesting to at least try this approach. I can't see anything illegal about it, however, I'm sure opinions will vary.

If you watch videos of ranges in Europe. They shoot through tubes with padded acoustical foam to prevent the sound from traveling far. Many ranges are located in or close to major population centers.
It works just fine for them.
I want my range (BGC) to use them, or at least try them out

You can build an effective suppressor for about 30 dollars in 20 minutes if you want to. I definitely would not recommend it if you want to stay out of jail.

Hey, what's the skinny on prohibited vs restricted potatoes? Can I shoot with one in my back yard?

Yes, but you can only use domestic (Canadian-produced) spuds.

Oh, let's not encourage the OP...

Oil filter works better

Let's definitely not temp the OP...

Right, let's get this back on track.

No muzzle device is allowed to suppress the sound of the rifle. There is no set DB limit, it's just not allowed.

Depending on the length of the barrel you can get some devices like the ATRS Eliminator that is designed to direct the muzzle blast downrange on short barrels while severely reducing muzzle flash. This is really handy when you're taking into consideration other members at the range or friends you're shooting with.

Your best bet is to double up on the hearing protection if the goal is to save your own hearing.
Hope that helps.

Thank you, atleast someone who's helpful!!!!!!!!!!

Haha this thread is funny. Guys lets all agree, we all would like sounds suppressors to be legal. Really, we dont need them unless you hunt people or game. But it's something I feel and I'm sure many of you feel is something that does not need to be banned from our firearms. We're not all Wanting to be James Bond or from call of duty. They are just a interesting addition to our firearms.

Would be nice to shoot without needing ear protection. Maybe those who live near ranges would like the dramatic reduction in noise? :)
