Hi I'm looking at buying a Zastava Left hand bolt action rifle, haven;t decided on calibre yet. I've seen two different retailers advertising them as models M98 and Z98. What is the difference , if any?

the LH Zastava is not a M98 but a commercial Mauser Action made from FN toolings. so if you compare with a mauser 98 you ll see a difference first with the safety, then the mag release and the stock.

the real name of this Zastava is LK M70 (but to avoid any confusion with the military 70 the name is different) here s a link :

there are solid working rifles with good steel, good open sights and maybe a long LOP.

all the best.

Actually, the Zastava is a FN Supreme which is a streamlined M/98.
Zastava use different names for different configurations of their M/98 action.

Baribal : it s not Zastava that is changing the name but more the market and different importers.... i ve never seen the 98 mentionned on the european market contrary to here : the LK M70 is and was the name long time before i think since the 70s .....
i dont know when the factory started the LH version.

all the best.
