Anyone else think there should be a limit to how many times you can bump up the same "ad" in the pistol and revolver exchange?

There's one guy who has bumped his over-priced pistol 66 times! Maybe it's time he re-thought his asking price.

Nope not even a little bit. Its a free world and its his choice to ask whatever he wants and its my choice to not pay it.

that ad was started april 2011 lol
who cares how many times it gets bumped, there is either limited market or it is way overpriced. judging by the pistol, prob limited market.
the guy is in no rush to sell obviously, probably a gun show regular :p

I dont like anyone limiting anything, the next guy will say we dont anything but single shots, but that doesn't make him right

yeah :bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug: it who cares. maybe someone will come along and be like "thats the one i was looking for, cool." and hopefully that dude has too much cash.

As long as it's still for sale, I don't see an issue. Other forums I've used have controlled "front page hogs" by implementing a timeout of a day (or whatever) before you can reply again to your own thread, unless someone else has responded to it since. I haven't seen it to be a problem here, but it's one way to control things if they get out of hand.

It's a week here before you can bump your post....

When you troll the EE is best to apply some common sense. A quick read of the add title and then the number of "replys" should tell you that you've already checked into it. I find it entertaining to see insane amounts of BTT for grossly over priced garbage. It really breaks up the mundane list of regular folk selling stuff for normal prices.

As firearms enthusiasts, we already have too many rules and regulations to go by. You want more rules for classified ads? Gimme a break!

For what it's worth...

Members may "bump" or bring their thread "back-to-the-top" [aka BTT] of the EE forum page where seven (7) days have elapsed since the last posting made to the thread, by simply making a posting to the existing thread. The EE has a built in default that will not allow an existing thread to be BTT’d within 7 days of the last posting made to the thread.

+1. We are drowning in rules and regulations in this country and certainly don't need another useless one. WTF is wrong with people that they cannot live their lives without endless rules?

I actually find it pretty funny that someone would bother to repost the same ad that many times. Gives me a good chuckle to go along with the "brand new, only fired 50 rounds ads" asking for the same money that a truly new one would cost in a retail store.
