Please read the regs. I ran into two different people hunting who were talking about going back out on, "Tuesday".

None of the southern hunting wmu's allow big game hunting on, "Tuesday". Wed. to Sat. ONLY!

Make sure of the regs concerning the wmu you're hunting in. Here's a link to the Prairie WMU seasons: http://www.albertaregulations.ca/huntingregs/wmu/wmu100.html

If you're hunting out of season, you're poaching.
Thank you.

Wow, I'm confused. Why no hunting on a Tuesday? I kinda understood why no hunting on Sundays, but most areas here in Ontario now allow it.

I don't know, but there are a fair number of zones like this. I hunt in eastern Alberta in WMU #164 and it is the same. If anyone who has been hunting for a while here has an answer it would be great to hear it.

Yup, they may have been hunting in 166, or hunting elk or moose, or maybe going to 2,3 or 400 zones???

Now maybe someone can tell me why Moose and Elk can be hunted all week long and not deer?????????

I'm not an experienced hunter, but...

The very first thing that came to my mind was "lack of man-power".

Or maybe worse, lack of funds to pay Conservation officers.

Nope, hunting deer in 102, 112 and 118 out of season.

And to the other poster, I don't need to reread the regs. I read them every single year. Too bad more people don't. Also, I said in the Southern wmu's. Try to keep up.

I guess I will feed the troll-:feedTroll:

Nice comment!! You must be from Quebec or Ontario for sure....and you can stay there!!

Thats why western Canada and in particular Saskatchewan and Alberta are leading/driving this country economically. STAY in the east......we dont want you here anyhow!!

Yep, but driving the economy with natural resources that will eventually run out hardly has anything to do with the people who live there. If the product was something that were produced due to high technical skill or intellect that would be a whole other conversation. The easterners who head to the west are typically unqualified to work anywhere else, but the west just gobbles them up.

Well you can keep your low unemployment rate and pile up more provincial debt! Maybe you should join go the USA States like Georgia and Texas that are comtemplating on separating.

Products produced in the east with high technical skills and intellect...thats a joke!!!Laugh2:bsFlag:

I'm done with you, back to topic discussion.

Gotta read the regs guys ...thats why they are in print and avalible on Alberta relm.....

Things are diffrent all over the country

Some regs are smart , some not.

Oh and the season is tecnicly closed on those days in the zones under discussion...so even if you simply get pulled over and reply your hunting ...Busted fer poaching you will be.

I did not double check those zones...I Dont hunt them

Actually it is Sun., Mon. and Tues.

I believe the idea is that you can have a short season of X consecutive days or stretch the season out over a longer period (while still only hunting X days) by only hunting 4 days out of a seven day week.

I think the question is more why are we limiting the number of days at all in those zones, rather than deciding on the best way to space out the days we have. I was out in #164 last weekend and we saw tons of game, both deer and moose. Letting us hunt a few more days is hardly going to make a dent in the number of animals in the zone overall.

We ended up with two Mulie does after spending most of the day chasing a group of 10 around trying to get a decent shot. First day ever out for big game for my 12 year old, too. He had a blast and missed a shot on a small doe. He is now one day wiser on shooting live game in the field as compared to shooting at the range and he now knows what buck fever feels like.:D

We still have whitetail tags and an antlered mulie tag that we are going to try and fill this coming weekend.w:h:
