Gentlemen;

I recently bought a flash hider for my CZ, and I cannot for the life of me get that damned indexing pin on the front sight (just above the muzzle) to release. I've tried penetrating oil and lightly tapping it with a punch, and all that did was drive the pin farther into the front sight mount. I'm told that it's supposed to be spring-loaded, but it doesn't appear that way to me.

What to do now??

I've searched the forum and come up with nada.

Thanks for your help.

I would remove the small pin on the side of the sight base, just above the indexing pin then the indexing pin should come off completely after fews hit on the sight base with a plastic maillet. Clean well and reassemble.

Thanks, brotha!!!

It did work, although two things were unusual.

1) it took a LOT of force to hammer out that small pin, even using a plastic/rubber mallet

2) it was necessary to file down the cutout portion of the index pin before it would slide back and forth with the small pin in place.

Mods, maybe add this to a sticky up top? I can't be the only one who's had this issue.

Yep most of the time I tell people to sit there with a bastard file and index it slowly tell it's snug fit to get into place. Then I get yellow teflon tape and give it a few wraps and replace the teflon tape every time I clean the crown.
