Colt 9mm mags?

Yea, you might be right, I have a RRA 9mm AR and I've heard conflicting reviews, some praise the plastic ProMag, others not.

I'm sure in time IRUNGUNS will replenish their MetalForm/Colt mag stock, they do have 9mm Colt AR rifles listed as "coming soon" - making it more likely.

I've only have the Questar and a single RRA mag to use in my 9mm AR, so I'm unable to offer any direct opinions on other brands, until I track them down!

I've got a Bushmaster Carbon 15 and a CMMG, both are 7.5". Also have several RRA and Promag 5/30 and the metal shorties from Questar. Watching the Utube video on converting the UZI mag I'm going to convert a couple of my UZI mags. They don't have the rib on the back but doesn't seem to matter, they slide in nice and only need the slot to be cut so they'll lock in.

When the AWB was in full effect in the US their prices for preban mags was similar to up here, around $200 or so IIRC. Some individuals came up with mag block adapters that used sten mags that had been notched. I think there is still a thread about on arfcom.

At least one US company made such a block for retail, SNS industries. The cool thing about it was it was designed to work with the Colt or Olympic system. You just had to add the ejector for it to work with a Colt style upper. I picked one up but never did try it as I had problems locating an ejector and Sten mags in Canada. Maybe I should dig it out and give it a try....

Yea, you've really got to beat the bushes in Canada, it's amazing the stuff that magically appears on CGN/EE, but then poof! it's gone in the blink of an eye...

I saw the ASA 9mm AR that ATRS sells over a month ago but it never occured to me that they might have extra mags, I'm just so jaded about the availability of anything but Glock, 1911, 10/22 and AR .223/556 mags that it's always a shock to find anything else available anywhere in Canada.

Colt 9mm AR15 5/32 mags coming to canada!!!!

Update:

DeadZombies aka Dlask is promising to bring in Colt 9mm AR15 mags

Thread: Hi Cap Pinned Mags

"If there is enough interest......we will bring in high cap pinned mags. We have already applied for a permit for:"

9mm AR mags
Glock 17 mags
Glock 22 mags
Glock 21 mags

This was in response to me challenging them to counter Irunguns' ability to bring in similar mags to canada, albeit at a higher unit price/shipping/border processing fees.

I'd rather spend the money at home with Dlask, or any other reputable canadian dealer but if they don't source the supply then IRG will get the $$$.

DeadZombies stepped up to the plate, as per the thread response above, and I challenged them to bring in 100 current manufacture Colt 5/32 pinned mags, since these are unobtainium in canada and command $300+ on the EE. To my surprise and delight, they took my challenge seriously.

So please get over to the thread and add your voices to the request, I'm down for 12 mags, I have no doubt they can sell all 100 in a single month and offered to pay them $100 if I was proven wrong. We've all been dreaming of getting these mags for a reasonable price, here's our chance.

If you don't ask, you don't get.

DeadZombies clearly wants the business, so lets reward them for doing a good job. They're prepared to bring anything else that they feel there is a sufficient demand for - they won't know if we don't speak up, all the best.

Where the hell is everyone getting $200-$300 per mag? I found some through various sources and been paying $85 per mag. I sold my 9mm Colt years ago with four mags for $1750.

Yeah. The 300 club can blow. Reasonable prices or not at all. I don't care how fly/pimp/rich anybody is. This is not a showboat. I mention this since CGNers love to drive up prices. It begins with "I'd pay anything for...".

Yep. Happens here all the time. How do you think dealers were getting away with selling Colt 6920's for $2,500 plus? Not to mention all of the $2k-$3k black rifles being doted on. I gave up caring a long time ago when prices got that high for 5 round capacity semi-autos.

I couldn't agree more on outrageous "unobtainium" mark ups, but prove to me there is a source in Canada to buy Colt 9mm AR15 5/32 pinned hi-cap mags for $85 - I've been searching for over a year without success and only $300 per mag offers on CGN.

The only known sources are ATRS selling converted Uzi mags, $115 each and Questar selling 10 round stubbies.

Gossip, ie: "I paid, blah, blah," is pointless - we're all looking for a dealer that has stock, not a once upon a time story.

DeadZombies hasn't quoted a price yet, but $85 sounds likely/reasonable - if US retail is $50, as Rebel Rouser said in earlier posts, hopefully it'll be lower but I'm not going to suggest it without information to support it.

Irunguns deals with Colt also, so they're another source, nothing in their inventory right now, but would likely cost more with their individual item shipping fees/border processing.

Anyhoo, tell DeadZombies/Dlask you want them - or else the boss may decide one small order isn't worth it and we can back to complaining about lack of availability, all the best.

I think what people are getting at is there is no reliable source for these, and if someone pays $300 for these mags, they're idiots, plain and simple, and whoever asks for $300 for them should be told where to put them.

With ITAR and all the bs, I don't know if you could do what I did for years: have mags shipped to friend in the US, go down, pin the mags, come back.

I've been advised that this is illegal by dealers, due to ITAR regs, so that's out as an option.

I have an alternate such friend, called Irunguns.us, costs $25 import fees for the first mag, $12.50 for every additional mag - they handle the ITAR regs , etc.

Dlask would be a better friend, since they'll bring in a quantity lot and charge less import fees that are contained in their retail prices for US imported product.

The $300 price tag for older/original Colt was established by the rules of supply and demand, even in the US these mags go for $80 to $120. Of course only the most desperate collector would fork over that kind of cash.

Anyway, one way or another this 9mm AR15 hi-cap mag scarcity will be eliminated, I'm not giving up, already got a sample order coming in from IRG.

I'm okay with Metalform mags for less. $85, $115, $300! Nope.

Those retail for $40US, how much a dealer would charge to pin and import, not sure. I don't mind paying a reasonable premium, it's understood that costs and profits are justified.

So we'll see how Dlask does, but if we all stand back and penny pinch don't expect much progress on future requests.
