Norma powder.

Be prepared to hire a chimney sweep if using 203B, filthiest powder I have ever used.

Paperslayer, what are you using the 203B in??
I am using it in a 6BR, and am not experiencing any excess soot.
Maybe you are not into the upper pressure area that will get it to burn cleaner.

Im shooting NORMA .280 rem ammo. I want to try to duplicate as close as I can. Ive got the NORMA bullet.

By looking at the NORMA sight, its probly 203b or 204 in the factory load....that sound right to you gents?

I would be relatively certain that the 280 would be using a powder close to N204.
Keep in mind that commercially packaged powders may not be the same as that which the ammo is loaded with.
Factories seldom use the exact powders we get for their ammo operation.

Interesting point, but I was at the sweet spot with 105 Bergers (yes, i too was using a BR and a 6.5X47) and i had them at the 2875 fps sweet spot. I have a few cans of that stuff kicking around and wanted to play with it another day.... Certainly accurate enough, but hard to find in quantity.

Alliant's Reloader line of powders are made by the same company that makes Norma and Rottweil powders,Nobel Industries in Sweden. The Reloader line of powders are improved version of the Norma powders. An old letter I have from back in the late 80's had the cross references between Reloader powders and Norma.

Reloader #15 at that time was the same as the old N203,although they are similar in appearance they are slightly different. 203B is said by the mfg. to be more uniform and Reloader #15 give higher velocity with equal loads.
