Went to the range with my son today to get in some quality shooting time. I wanted to make sure the 243 was still well sighted in after deer season.

I was shooting 75gr V-max sitting on 36 grs of Varget with Federal Match primers in Winchester cases.......

Shooting at 100 yards with only a front rest I was hovering around 1" groups for 5 shots

My best group was ruined by a flyer.......so the rifle and load shoots better than I do

This would have been .805 inch without the flyer........ I hate flyers

I'm sure I could fine tune the load for better groups but these will do just fine on a yote.... 1,07 inch

V-max=Good coyote load. What kind of speed are you getting. I shoot 53 gr V-max in my 223 going 3200. Really flattens them.

I'm using 53 gr V-Max in my .223 now as well, and after tweaking my COAL, i managed to shoot a .282" group last time i was out. I was using 23 gr benchmark with a COAL of 1.780 (measured with a comparator). It will be my new coyote load, as i don't think i'll find a better load! I really need to buy a chrony now..... And to the OP, I hate flyers too! My new timney trigger all but solved that problem.

I use a 75gr vmax over 49grs of varget. But that's in a 2506. I'm getting close to 3500fps. It knocks em down. My other load is 117gr interlock over 52grs imr4831 for 3120fps average. Haven't hit a coyote yet but crows disappear. Just floating feathers left. I loaded 50gr vmax for my dads 223 over 21.8grs rl10. Didn't chorno those but they grouped really tight.

Using 38.5 gr of H414, WLR primers and 50 gr. V-max bullets in my. 22-250 for coyotes. Shooting 0.24" 3 shot groups @100 yds and 1.32" groups at 200 yds sitting at a bench off a bipod

We have had good success with 75gr Vmax in the .243 as well. When we got low on 75s we had some 55gr Silvertips. They work very well for us also. They sure made gophers jump im Alberta this past summer.

I've always found V-Max bullets to be very accurate out of a number of different rifles I've tried them with. The price is right too.

Until I find a good .224 rifle I will be using a 7mm08 with Speer 130 BTSP's... probably going to make a mess out of them. I had better start looking in earnest for a good varmint rifle!

I have loaded up some 58g Vmax and 42g of IMR4064 and they are making a one hole group at 100 yards. I haven't shot anything but paper with them so far and have not cronyed them yet, but they should be in the 3500 fps range.

I'm using 75 V-max and W760 powder just shy of 3400 fps. ~.75 accuracy. I haven't shot anything with them other than a few crows. The load is indended for wolves, it may be a little destructive on coyotes if your into saving the pelt.

Rifle is a Weatherby Vanguard 243 win.

I witnessed a coyote kill with the 75 V-max-dog ran, but they're tough. It exited on a broadside shot with about a 2" diameter.

My favourite: 22-250 and 50 gr Blitzkings with RE-15 3750 fps. 2 dogs down-one a complete mess, the other in the briskit with absolutely no damage
My favourite (as well): .243 and 85 gr Sierra Gamekings with IMR 4350 3400 fps-many dogs, some a complete mess, others no damage (i.e. chest shot placement)
New favourite: .243 and 95 gr Ballistic Tips with H4350 unsure but maybe 3200 fps? - moderate damage on groundhogs, yet to get a dog.

No chrony, just a lot of drop charts and field testing to verify velocity. I can hardly wait for that 350 yd plus shot with the Ballistic Tip!

My favorite coyote load is 70 gr TNT's over H380. Massive internal damage with surprisingly small exits on coyotes but leaves gaping holes on the backside of fox.

The 204 loaded with 32gr. Sierra`s is my favorite coyote load. Will be trying some Hornady 223 ammo in the new Kel-Tec as well.

You should post the groups you get with your kel tec. I was interested in them but wasn't sure if they were accurate. I don't think I'd buy one unless it could group into less than 2 1/2". Preferably a lot less.

My coyote load is a max load of blc2 and Nosler 40grs in my 204. They 3 shot group into 3/4".

Deadmeat worked up a load for my 243 with 58 grn Vmax. I believe they were around 3700 fps. Its a Savage though, so the groups weren't very good, were they Deadmeat ? :p I tested them on Yotes and it slows them down :D

My main load in my main rig are factory loads. Hornady TAP 55 grn. Never any fur damage and drops them in their tracks. And consistantly shoot well under an inch groups.
