Any reports of polymer-framed pistols suffering explosive destruction?

I've handled 2 destroyed Glocks, both 40 cals. I should also mention that this was waaaaaaay back when 40 was new and guys were shooting very high pressure loads with very light (lead) bullets in IPSC, to make major with small frame pistols (at the time Major 9 was not allowed by USPSA). Neither shooter suffered any real injuries, both guns were complete and utter write offs.

Just got me a plastic steyr 9mm, nice little gun, anybody hear of any real reports of polymer-framed pistols suffering explosive destruction, any makes?

With a nine, kabooms are very rare. And, when they do happen, polymer-framed guns seem to cause less damage to people's hands.

Agreed! unless your a 80s TV cop with a sweet stash :p

Like my childhood crush, Stepfanie Kramer:

I've never heard of a Glock kaboom that couldn't be linked to not following manufactures recommendations. Reloads are probably fine, but if you try and get 10mm energy out if a 40 (or just plain don't follow safe reloading practices) you should expect bad things to happen.

Edit: correction, I've never heard actual facts or evidence. It's always that someone heard that their friend's cousin's barber had one blow up in his hands.
