Just thought I would share this with everyone. I needed a shotgun for IPSC shotgun matches in Standard division. I already had one for Standard Manual and Open. 4+1 of 2 3/4" in my 930 was not acceptable. ;)

After cutting a perfect size piece of solid oak doweling I got from Home Depot which allowed no more than five 3" inch shells in the tube, I put a washer then a screw into the doweling from the outside of the tube cap. I put the screw head on my table grinder and flattened it so a screw driver will not be able to take the screw out anymore then I painted it black. It worked out great.

What's amazing about the Nordic Components extensions is I didn't ruin the whole tube as you can just buy a cap that screws on and even just a longer middle tube portion in case you go to US for 3-guns.

you realize this thread appears in the forum view as

here I am dissapointed now. nice setup though

what I'm wondering is why you'd want to lessen the capacity of your shotgun even more than it already is?

I am not sure if you are joking or not but I will answer your question. As I mentioned in my post it's a 930 which maybe you didn't know is a semi-auto. A semi-auto shotgun is restricted to 5 in the tube of the max size of shell it's made for. If you are shooting a match you are at a disadvantage if you don't optimize your shotgun to accept the max. That's exactly what I did by plugging the tube extension.

Looks good. So you are legally running 6+1 of the 2 3/4" shells now right?

And how do you like that clip-on fiber optic bead sight?

I always wondered is it legal to have 6+1 of the shorter shells? Does the law anywhere actually state 5 of the largest size shells the shotgun will take or just 5 shells period? ;)

I put some of that outdoor high strength, waterproof double stick tape under the sight it to make sure it doesn't come off. So far so good. lol I have used that tape for holding a side saddle on and it's worked for years now. I can even carry the gun by the side saddle. Oh and yes I like the clip on. I find them very good for quick target acquisition.

Yes. It is officially in writing from the RCMP. The same rule applies to putting 12 rounds of 9mm into a .40 caliber handgun magazine.

they go buy the longest shell your shotgun will fire so if it shoots 3" then it can not fit 6 3 inch shells but can fit however many 2 3/4 will fit. if it shoots 3.5 ...
