My Blackfeather RS has arrived

Beautiful looking build so far, I cannot wait to see it done!

We can't do the 16 1/2 barrel up here can we?

Thank you.

Once you install a proper sight base and muzzle device on the end of the 16.25"
barrel the OAL is about 1/2" less than a 18.0" barrel with a GLFS and DC Vortex.
I chose the rigid 16.25" for my BF RS build because I have one and because
I plan to keep the heavy sound suppressor on it most of the time.

any update on the build

I am waiting on a few items to arrive... it's going to be a slow process
because the water business is typically busy during the holiday season.

I have not decided on a butt stock...
there are no issues with the gas system.

I will post pictures and details.

The CQB-16 that I'll be using has already proven itself to be
accurate and reliable. I've had it in a SAGE EBR and a Rogue
bullpup. It was too short to be legal in the Rogue... it's great
in the SAGE EBR. Here is what it looks like now.

I will start out with a bare bones iron sight shooter in the BF RS and
decide if I want to make any changes with the configuration later.

This is quite impressive looking! If you don't mind, may I ask what butt stock that is and where it can be purchased? Will it fit on the BlackFeather RS?

Thanks

Thank you.

That's a Battlelink Utility Stock from Mission First Tactical.
Very easy to install, just be sure and use the correct spacer supplied with the BF RS.

Now this is a sweet rifle, where did you get this stock? cost?

It's a Battlelink Utility Stock by Mission First Tactical that I purchased from tacticalgeardeals.com

I am currently investigating a folding mechanism for the butt stock...

I can only guess about the total weight right now and my best guess puts it @ or just under 10 pounds with all of the trimmings & unloaded

She's a great shooter and she weighs just 10 Lb 5.8 OZ as pictured below with a standard issue magazine that is empty.

I modified the AFG so that I could mount it as far back on the permanent front rail as possible.
I'll modify the RFG in order to also mount it back on the rail as far as possible.

Cool thanx for the update.
And that 16 inch barrel sure looks KooL compared to our 22's or 18.5's!
Hey Frank that rail mount can you make it to take aimpoint micro's like H2O MAN just post like the one you make for the reflex sights?

Be careful that you don't position the optic too low...

Along side my MK14 Mod 0

So doing an apple to apple comparison.
If you were to take off the optic mount and optic plus the bipod then slapped on the aim point plus the foward grip how much would the sage weigh?
Also after shooting the two different alluminum stocks witch one did you enjoy shooting more than the other?
Did one exceed at CQB while the other was better in a DMR role or was it preaty evenly matched?
I must say I do like the slim line ergo's of this black feather stock.
Further more were did you get that stripper clip brass deflector from and how are you likeing it?

1. About 13.50 Lbs.
2 & 3. I set up the BFRS as my quasi CQB M14 and the SAGE is set up for more of a DMR role, I like the results.
I replaced my CQB version of the SAGE LINK with the BFRS.
4. That is the USGI M3 breech shield, it's part of the M14 black firing kit.
I use it to deflect gas blown back through the barrel when suppressed and it works.

EBR Ashley likes the slim lines and the reduced weight of the Blackfeather
